2025 Holiday Gift Guide: Best Things I Would Get Again

2025 Holiday Gift Guide Header Image

It’s been a stellar year of running, hiking, and climbing! I can’t believe we’re already so close to the end of another one.

For 2025, there are specific products and experiences that stand out above the rest. Things I consistently use and enjoy today.

Better yet, each of the following 11 items I would get again in a heartbeat!

1. Roark Alta Shorts

The Roark Alta shorts are a seriously premium piece of gear that rivals other high-end brands like Lululemon. The difference though, is Roark makes these shorts exceptionally tough, so you don’t need to baby them like clothes from other luxury brands.

Given their high-end price point, a Black Friday sale is exactly when I would shop these again.

2. Brooks Packable Hat 2.0

The Brooks Lightweight Packable Hat 2.0 beat my every expectation. Just the fact that the bill flips up so the hat doesn’t fly off your head when a big gust of wind hits you is worth the purchase.

Add in how crazy comfortable it is, and you have yourself a solid gift!

3. The Madeleine Midi Cooler Backpack

For my wife and I, this thing is the road trip king! Whether we take it on a 10+ hour drive or hike, it’s more than successful at keeping our food and drinks cold. And if you ask my wife, the best part of the Madeleine Midi Cooler Backpack is how well it contains the smells of the food.

Keeping you and your meal fresh on a long trip.

4. Stanley Quencher ProTour Flip Straw Tumbler

The Stanley Quencher ProTour Flip Straw Tumbler is quite simply the best water bottle I’ve owned. (Even if the name is a mouthful.) I love the large 40 oz size, slim bottom design so it fits standard cup holders, and the spill proof straw lid.

I don’t care for the color options, but it sure adds a personal touch if you’re gift one this year.

5. Vivobarefoot Primus Flow

The Vivobarefoot Primus Flow shoes instantly and drastically changed my perspective on running. A “barefoot” experience with any activity still boggles my mind. So, if you want to give a friend or family member more than just what the product is, then this is it.

6. KT Health Ice Sleeve

The KT Ice Sleeve is the ultimate ice pack for recovery. Easily beating the traditional method of an old bag of frozen peas. It’s jaw dropping with how silky soft the interior fabric is and takes your breath away with just how cold it gets.

7. Craft Bi-Blend Tee

The BI-Blend Short Sleeve Tee just might be the ultimate shirt; whether you’re working out or going to the grocery store. The “cloud-like” materials Craft uses surpasses all of my past favorite shirts just by how creamy smooth the inside is. I’m still waiting for a version that has a tighter fit, but until then, this will more than suffice!

8. Altra Superior 7

Altra Superior 7 review

The Altra Superior 7 bridges the gap between road and trail shoes. Its supple upper materials and less pronounced lugs on the bottoms make it plush, yet capable. Given its versatility and ability to keep my feet, knees, and hips pain-free on long runs, I recommended this shoe all the time.

9. Craft Collective Structure Pants

Craft Collective Structure Pants review

I wear the Collective Structure Pants at least 1-2 times a week. I wear them at work, on travel days, at home, or when I’m out and about. The phenomenal side zipper pockets provide security at all times, so I never worry about losing my phone, wallet, keys, etc.

Oh, and they’re great to climb and lift in, so I really can wear them all-day-every-day.

10. DMM Chalk Bucket

I don’t know why I didn’t get the DMM Chalk Bucket years ago. Designed with a large base and wide opening, it’s perfect for bouldering. One of my favorite parts is the drawstring closure, because it supremely prevents chalk from leaking out into my pack, car, home, etc.

11. NOBULL Drive Knit

NOBULL Drive Knit running shoes

These are a shockingly good alternative to major brands for daily shoes. The knit material NOBULL uses on the upper and collar makes them feel like I’m wearing socks. I tested these at the start of the year, and they’re still the most comfortable pair of shoes for everyday wear.

Pro-tip, depending on your fit, you can use them without the laces.

The Recap

Just about any of these items are a solid buy for someone that’s active and looking for a key piece of gear to further enjoy a hobby or two. If you have any questions about the products, feel free to leave a comment below. I’ll respond as soon as I can.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday season! (Definitely wait to buy any of these things until Black Friday too!)
