We all have those days. You wake up completely exhausted, sore from top to bottom.
Nothing but lying in bed feels good. You ask yourself, “How am I supposed to get out of this bed?”
It’s on days like this that I reach for KT Tape’s magnesium creams. They don’t make the aches and pain disappear, but my goodness do they bring some significant relief!
Activate
Earlier this year I ran the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas half marathon, and it was a party! However, waking up the next day I was sorer than I expected. Sunday being a rest day for me though, I didn’t worry about it.
Monday morning came, and my calves still felt like bricks. I was dreading the thought of going on a run. Until I reached for the Activate cream.

It takes a few minutes before you really notice it. But wow does it feel amazing after you give it some time. The warmth all around my calves helped alleviate the tightness so well that I decided to head out for a post-race run.
Without it I might’ve taken another rest day.
It’s worth noting that depending on the area of your body that you use the creams, they behave slightly different. They take a little bit of time to kick in when you use it on larger muscle groups (glutes, calves, etc.). However, if you rub it on smaller muscles, like your triceps, the effects are stronger and begin sooner.
Recover
This one is used even more!
After most training sessions I walk away feeling sore. The soreness likes to plateau and stay at about the same intensity for the next 3-5 hours. Since I work from home and sit at a desk all day, I don’t mind the sore feeling as much.
If anything, I’ve grown to like it.
Eventually though, the aches and pains can hinder the rest of the week. It’s on these days that I use the Recover cream… and I love it!

It always feels good to sit down after two or more hours of being up on my feet exercising, but this cream increases the relief exponentially.
Similar to the Activate cream, it takes a few minutes before you really notice it. But once it’s starts it lasts a solid 20+ minutes. After the peak it trails off over the next 15+ minutes. (Depending on how much you use.)
Soothe
Believe it or not, this one is used even more!
The Soothe cream sets itself apart from the others the moment you take the lid off. Instead of the menthol smell that Activate and Recover have, this one smells like lavender. (It smells really strong in the container, but it’s not overbearing after you rub it in.)

This one is best used when going to bed and is by far the favorite in our household. Even MY WIFE has fallen for it!
For context, anytime my wife asks questions about a product I’m trying or using, you know she’s interested. She’s only curious about things that fascinate her. And because of the smell alone, she wanted to try it.
We did a nice hike together the other week, and she wore barefoot shoes. Her feet were hurting quite a bit. So, I put some of the Soothe cream on the bottoms of her feet that night.

Long story short, she melted into our bed and passed out.
The Recap
I try to stretch every other day for 20 minutes or so. This helps reduce soreness throughout the week and keep me feeling fresh. But I’m human.
Eventually the soreness builds, usually by Thursday, and it’s nice to have a backup plan. Something to reach for after big training sessions when I’m left stiff and waddling back home.
